On Saturday the 20th of February, Field Band Foundation held the National Championship at Nike Training Centre in Soweto.

This is the biggest event in the Field Band Foundation, and this year there were 12 field bands present from all over South Africa. Prizes are handed out to first, second and third place in each of the sections, as well as the overall champions in two separate divisions.

PULSE had the chance to observe this amazing event where the field band members got to shine like the stars that they are. It is especially powerful to watch this event when you know some of the hard work that the members and tutors put in to these bands each and every week, and then to see the hard work pay off.

We see mastering, meaning, motivation, self-esteem, support and stability so clearly present in all the bands, and it is a joy to watch!
