Friday October 7th The Field Band Foundation invited 13 bands from all over South Africa to a National Youth Celebration in Parys. The PULSE team was excited to attend, what for some of us was our first Field Band performance. And what a show it was! Carefully choreographed, with lively dance, colourful costumes, great music and smiles all around. We were treated to surprising musical numbers, from the Game of Thrones theme song to Katy Perry. Of course we also got to hear classic Field Band songs and South African hits.

It’s safe to say the crowd enjoyed themselves, and so did the musicians and dancers. It was great seeing all the bands and youth interacting throughout the day, and we’re sure many new friendships were made. We were also lucky to meet more of the members, tutors and people working in The Field Band all over South Africa. Thank you all for a great event and a truly inspiring day! We already look forward to the next time.
